Autry is working toward offering classes using entrepreneurship curriculum called FastTrac® NewVenture. This curriculum was developed through the Kauffman Foundation, the leading entrepreneurship research and education foundation in the country. FastTrac NewVenture assists start-up entrepreneurs in developing their business concept and evaluating it through each step of the business planning process. One of the keys to the curriculum is making businesses coaches available to the students in the course.
The primary responsibilities of the FastTrac® Business Coaches are to assist during the workshops, provide one-on-one coaching, and to review assignments and final business plans.
Business coaches may:
o Serve as experts during the program, providing advice and guidance in their area of expertise.
o Share their experiences and talents as guest speakers when appropriate.
o Assist with module delivery by facilitating portions of the program within their expertise.
o Visit participants’ businesses to get a clear view of the venture.
o Contact participants by phone and e-mail during the program to provide guidance and encouragement.
