Turning Dreams Into Success

From the single mother who needed a medical uniform, to the father of three who had to suddenly change careers because of a medical condition, to the welder who received a pay raise after receiving a higher certification in his current job, the funds of the Autry Educational Foundation help turn dreams into success.

The Foundation provides assistance to Autry Technology Center students by awarding grants to students who have a need and could not otherwise obtain financial assistance. Foundation assistance has helped pay tuition, books, uniforms, transportation and supplies for hundreds of students since the Foundation was founded.

The Foundation awarded nearly $12,000 in student grants last year. Most importantly, each grant makes it possible for a student to succeed—personally and professionally.

Grants
Grants provide financial assistance to potential and current students to allow them to begin or continue their education at Autry.

  • the Foundation is designed to assist students who have exhausted other outlets for assistance. Grants and emergency grants are for in-district students only.
  • Funding is for tuition, transportation, supplies, uniforms or other expenses that may be required for a student to successfully participate in a class at Autry.
  • Grant amount is determined based on the applicant's need. Generally, the applicant will be required to pay a portion of the expense.
  • The Foundation will generally not pay more than 50% of a tuition or supply assistance request for a student who has not yet started a class.

Emergency Grants or "Egrants"

Egrants provide emergency assistance to current students, allowing them to continue their education at Autry.
  • Egrants are a "last resort" option. Funding is for non-tuition related emergencies only. Examples include transportation, utility and medical needs.
  • Staff will work with the student to exhaust all other funding options, as well as work iwth students to connect them with area agencies who might be able to better provide assistance before suggesting applying for a grant.
  • Maximum award is $150.
  • Egrants have an open deadline and decisions are often made within 24 hours.
